A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR:
I knew the first time that I read, Eb Scrooge: A Southern Fried Carol that it would be a satisfying, creative challenge. Writer Ian Mairs, gave us permission to make this call and response play our own in the sense that it takes place here in Mena. Then we took a bold step outside the box and came up with creative ways to get the audience to respond to and participate in events taking place on the stage. There is a lot of symbolism that helps maintain the spirit of the beloved Dickens tale of greed and redemption with a dose of laughter mixed with childhood memories from our past. Throw in a great cast and this couldn’t have been a better play for me to direct my first time out.
