Artistic Director and Play Selection Report- Judy (Through Email)
- A big shout out and thank you to Robbie Burt and Jessica Kropp for having one-acts prepared for us and performed even with a shortened rehearsal time, then an ice storm. Judy believes they had good performances, and it was encouraging to the students themselves. She has not heard the financials on this, but the experience in itself was well worth it.
- The theatre also had a Realtor’s show, held this past Friday, with many of our own being involved in the directing and presentation of it. Judy is assured that much money was made, and the Call will benefit greatly from the dedication of all those involved.
- Now, tomorrow night and Saturday night, the Ouachita Strings will be presenting their Spring Concert. Judy loves that the theatre has other non-profits using the facilities and hopes we can continue to offer services for them. She thanks Mikayla for helping with this event.
- Descendants have held their auditions and have cast their actors. Be sure to ask Kallie if there is anything you, as board members, can do to help her achieve her goals for a great production.
- The Play Selection Committee would like to bring to the board the following play approvals. They have read and approved “Hello Dolly” to be directed by Zeke McPherson; “The Christmas Story” to be directed by Amanda Baker for Christmas 2026, and “Drinking Habits”. If approved by the board, the committee can add these titles to the already existing titles of: “Private Lives” requested by Zeke, “Book of Will”. They are still looking for a director for this fall, and any of the approved titles would be great to do. Anybody willing? So, will the board approve the above plays for the coming year?
- Justin Sattler mentioned to Kallie that he was interested in directing a play in the future.
- The schedule right now looks like this: Descendants in May, Camelot for the summer, nothing for fall and The Christmas Story will round out the 2026 year.
House Report-Robbie
- The water bill was brought down by about $50-$70 when the leaking toilet in the bathroom was turned off. Robby suggested that in the future, we might need to have a professional come take a look at it.
- Mouse traps were placed all around the theatre, and a couple of mice have been caught.
- Zeke mentioned that the storage unit was cleaned out and that the next project is to clean and organize the storage shed.
- Zeke also pressure-washed the front entrance and plans to start fixing some things around the entrance for appearance and safety.
