Deborah Barnes
Deborah Barnes went to Escalon High school and graduated in 1997. She was in the The Importance of being Earnest, Christmas Belles, and Dixie swim club. In 2015, as a single mom , she adopted a little baby, Isaiah, who is now 10. She worked at the Mena Regional Hospital.
Judy Weir
Judy Weir moved to Mena with her sweetheart Larry 18 years ago. Music was the most important thing to her after her children, She learned to play the Xylophone in the second grade thanks to a special teacher. She continued to play Xylophone until sixth grade when she was invited to play with the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra. She was in the choir and glee club in high school. She joined the Mena Community Chorus and sang in her church choir. While in Illinois she lived only an hour from Chicago, and she was able to meet several famous people. Her hobbies included house plants, reading watching TV, writing poetry, staying in touch with friends spending time with her grand-girls, and sitting outside listening to the birds. She visited the Mena Presbyterian church twice before she moved here. With the Big, old building and all the stained-glass windows, it felt like home to her. She was an elder and served on both the fellowship and membership committees. She sang in the choir and was a member of Presbyterian Women.
Trinity Ashlynn
Trinity Ashlynn Thomas was in a heartbreaking accident while visiting back home during summer vacation, Trinity was a bright Spirited and kind-hearted young women. She brought light and love where ever she went. She ran spot light for You can't take it with you and helped backstage in many more productions
Nancy Gardner
Nancy Gardner was an enthusiastic Patron of the OLT. She was energetic spirit who was always had a fascinating story to tell about colorful life she lived, having lived in New York in the 1970's, Nancy split her time between her home in Mena and her ranch in New Mexico, but when she was in town, she never missed a show and always lifted our spirits with high praise. The last generous contribution was the donation of microphones for last summer's production of The Little Mermaid. Nancy will be deeply missed.
Scott Roberts
Scott Robert Hopkins, Known to us during his time here as Scoot Roberts, First appeared on our stage in Silas Marner and again in You Can't take it with you. He took his OLT roles, both onstage and off very, very seriously, approaching everything with helpfulness, diligence and enthusiasm. He was so kind and friendly to everyone he worked with at the OLT.
Bill Hays
Bill Hays has been a member of the OLT since 1992 and is our long time Treasurer. He has performed in 17 plays at the OLT and 8 more in Mt. Ida. Theatre is a special part of his life, and he was thrilled to receive the 2023 Leda Award in recognition of his impressive history of contributions to the theatre.
